Koro

Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
Whoo-whoo-whoo
Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
no cupid no
he said wow

and the days go by
Like a thread in the wind
On the web, that's mine
I'm starting again
I told my friend baby (anything for)
nothing else mattered
he was gone
(I was gone)
What a baby then
Well, he looked heartbroken.
something in him
but the moment
what do i ask first
eyes on him
All alone on the verge of seventeen

Koro

Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
No, Cupid, no, no
Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
Disse, whoo, nena, whoo
he said wow

well i left today
maybe i'll go again
tomorrow yes yes
Well, the music there
Well, it was awfully familiar.
when i see you do
what I'm trying to do for myself
with your poetic words
And a voice from a choir
and a melody
nothing else mattered

Koro

Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
No, Cupid, no, no
Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
Disse, whoo, nena, whoo
he said wow

The clouds never wait
When it rains
But the sea changes color
but the sea
It doesn't change
So with the slow graceful flow
Alt
I left at an old age
desire to please
just before seventeen

Koro

Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
No, Cupid, no, no
Like the white-winged dove
sing a song
it seems that she is singing
Disse, whoo, nena, whoo
he said wow

back 4

then suddenly
nobody was standing
In the hallway, yes yes
In a stream of tears
That no one has really heard of falling
As I searched for an answer
Go up the stairs and down the hallway.
find no answer
Just to hear the call
From a night birdsong, come away
(interrupt)

Like the white-winged dove

Well I hear you (okay I hear you)
In the morning (in the morning)
And I hear you (And I hear you)
In the twilight (In the twilight)
Sometimes to be close to you
is not to hear you
My love
I'm a few years older than you my love
(I'm a few years older than you)

Lyrics and meaning of "Edge Of Seventeen" (Stevie Nicks) (2)

In 1981 Stevie Nicks released his first solo work.Pretty Woman, while still a member of Fleetwood Mac. The album was recorded in the 1980s when Nicks became involved with producer Jimmy Iovine, who worked with herPretty Woman.

During filming, Stevie met Tom Petty (whom he later recorded withstop tearing my heart). Speaking to Tom Petty's first wife, Jane, Stevie asked her how and when they met.

"Seventeen," Jane replied, but because of her heavy southern accent, Stevie heard "Edge" from 17. She liked the sound and wrote it down to use in a future song.

The original idea was that it should be a love song about Tom Petty and his wife meeting. But in December 1980, the singer's life was shattered by two deaths in the same week: her uncle Jonathan and John Lennon, one of Jimmy Iovine's best friends.

Jimmy was devastated by the murder. He and John Lennon were good friends and after the murder happened there was nothing Stevie could do to help with his grief. Nothing she could say could comfort him.

She left him in Los Angeles and went to Phoenix to be with her uncle who was suffering from cancer. Her uncle died while she was sitting next to him on the bed, holding his hand. The lyrics of this song describe that moment.

"The line 'And the days go by like a gust of wind' showed how quickly time went by in those days when my uncle was sick and how frustrating it was for me," Stevie told Rolling Stone.

"When I sing 'Well, I left today, maybe I'll be back tomorrow,' it's about seeing him on the eve of his death. Came to my aunt's house. He put on soft music and it was the perfect way to let go of the spirit.”

He explained that the white-winged dove represents that moment: "I felt a great loss for the two Johns who left us, so 'Just Hearing a Nocturnal Bird Call Going Away' was about that moment," Stevie said.

"My cousin John Nicks and I were in the room when he died. It was just John and I there. It was part of the song as I ran down the hallways looking for someone. I thought where is my mother? Where are your wife and the rest of the family? At that point I went back to the piano and finished the song.”

At the same time, he tells us about the insecurities in love that come after a short time and the pain that the departure of a soul causes like a white-winged dove. His uncle's death really hit Stevie, which is explained in the third verse:

desire to please

The song begins with a signature guitar riff accompanied by percussion, giving way to the singer's powerful voice accompanied by female choirs.

The piano and bass parts immerse us in an accelerated melody full of power and emotion. The song's powerful opening riff is notable along with Stevie's raspy vocals. This is a song worthy of all the praise it has received.
